Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which is the best therapy to meet my needs?

Often many different  types of therapy can be beneficial for each of us, so please do not worry about trying to pick the perfect approach. We will discuss your options with you during your assessment appointment. Our treatment will be tailored to meet your specific needs, however if there is a treatment you are interested in, please talk to your therapist about it.

Do I need a referral from my GP or another health professional?

No, we work on a self-referral basis. Although we are happy to accept referrals from your GP or other health professionals and business occupational health services, this is not compulsory if you are self-referring.

What will happen in during my first session?

Your initial assessment appointment aims to provide you with an opportunity to talk to your therapist about your current difficulties. In your first session your therapist will ask you   questions to help ascertain the therapy they offer is suitable to meet your needs.

Do I have to commit to therapy?

Following your assessment appointment, and once you have agreed to go ahead with therapy, we draw up a therapy contract outlining the number of sessions that will be offered. The therapy contract is helpful as it outlines expectations of therapy, goals for treatment and the type of intervention that will be used to meet your needs.

How often will my sessions be?

We recommend weekly or fortnightly sessions. If appointments are regularly missed clients, will not benefit from treatment. If appointments are missed and not attended, you will be charged, unless you have let us know in advance.

Where will the appointments take place?

All appointments will be online and remote, and delivered through a Video Platform. Please have a quiet environment where you will be able to have your therapy session.

How much will the therapy cost?

The standard assessment fee with one of our therapists is £85. Subsequent treatment sessions are priced as follows:

1 Hour CBT Treatment – £85.

1 Session of EMDR – £90 (This may be longer or shorter than an hour).

One-off anxiety management sessions are priced depending on requirements, and reduced rates are available for students, veterans and NHS staff.

How do I make payment?

Payments can be made using bank transfer or our online payment system.

Is the information I share confidential?

Everything you discuss with your therapist in your session is confidential and will not be shared with anyone except in situations where your therapist may be concerned about your safety, or the safety of someone around you. Sometimes it is helpful for us to speak to your GP, we will let you know if this is the case.
