CBT is based on the principle that we experience mental health problems including stress, anxiety and depression because of a change in our thoughts, emotions or behaviours. Through working together with your therapist, you can identify and change these symptoms and improve your mental wellbeing.
CBT is a recommended treatment for depression and all anxiety disorders including panic, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and health anxiety.
Often mental health difficulties stem from a traumatic or stressful incident. EMDR helps us to process this trauma so that it can be stored more helpfully in our memory. The treatment consists of 8 phases, and the number of sessions required to process any difficulties differs for each of us.

(Though these useful techniques are often included as part of any CBT treatment you may receive).
Getting enough sleep is essential to a healthy lifestyle however from time to time we may experience sleeplessness or insomnia for a variety of reasons.
The sleep improvement techniques we offer include Sleep Hygiene, Restriction and Healthy Living.
