Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is based on the principle that we experience mental health problems including stress, anxiety and depression because of a change in our thoughts, emotions or behaviours. Through working together with your therapist, you can identify and change these symptoms and improve your mental wellbeing. 

CBT is a recommended treatment for depression and all anxiety disorders including panic, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and health anxiety. 

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

Often mental health difficulties stem from a traumatic or stressful incident. EMDR helps us to process this trauma so that it can be stored more helpfully in our memory. The treatment consists of 8 phases, and the number of sessions required to process any difficulties differs for each of us.

Relaxation and Mindfulness

Relaxation and Mindfulness are techniques to help be present in the current moment. By focussing on what is happening now, we are able to reduce any future worries and also helps us to stop thinking about the past.

(Though these useful techniques are often included as part of any CBT treatment you may receive).
